Basic musicology text fonts / Polices de base pour les textes musicologiques

Download and unzip the files msr.zip and MusText.zip Téléchargez et décompactez les fichiers msr.zip et MusText.zip

Install the following fonts, contained within those two *.zip files, in Windows:

Clickable character tables (PDF) for
MSREF1.TTF, MSREF2.TTF, MusiSync.TTF, Opustext.ttf

MSREF1.TTF allows for the simple insertion of (key #), ($) and (8) into your text..

MSREF2.TTF is useful for time signatures

MusiSync.TTF is useful for rhythms

Opustext.TTF Is of general use

Table of symbols and examples of symbol combinations available in the above fonts.

Any combinations of musical symbols other than those resembling the examples shown in the tables (hyperlinks above) should be imported into your document from an image file (*.tif, *.jpg, etc.). Such image files can be either scanned in or exported from notation software packages like Finale or Sibelius. Before such files are imported into your document they should be touched up using image editing software like Adobe Photoshop (expensive) or Photoplus (free).

MSREF1.TTF permet l’insertion facile des symboles (touche #), ($) et (8) dans votre texte.

MSREF2.TTF est utile pour les indications de mesure.

MusiSync.TTF est utile pour les rhythmes.

Opustext.ttf est d’une utilité générale

Tableau de symboles et d‘exemples de combinations de symboles disponibles dans ces quatres polices.

Toute combinaison de symboles musicaux autre que celles qui ressemblent aux exemples dans les tableaux doit être importée dans votre document à partir d’un fichier image (*.tif, *.jpg, etc.). Ces fichiers image peuvent être le résultat de soit la numérisation (scanning) soit l’exportation d’un logiciel de notation musicale, tel que Finale ou Sibelius. Avant d’importer les fichiers image dans votre document il faut en général les retoucher en utilisant un logiciel pertinent, tel Adobe Photoshop (couteux) ou Photoplus (gratuit).

(example/exemple: msr.zip)

Double-click hyperlink msr.zip.
Select Save to Disc and click OK Double-cliquez le lien msr.zip.
Sélectionnez Enregistrer et puis OK.

Double-click the msr.zip icon on your desktop.

Select the relevant files (*.ttf) and click Extract.

Double-cliquez l’icône msr.zip sur votre Bureau.

Sélectionnez les fichiers.pertinents (*.ttf) et cliquez Extract (Décompacter/Extraire?)

Save the two files in a folder on your hard drive. Enregistrez les deux fichiers dans un dossier sur votre disque dur.

Select Start > Settings > Control Panel Sélectionnez Démarrer > Paramètres
> Panneau de configuration

Select Fonts Sélectionnez Polices

Select File > Install new font Sélectionnez Fichier > Installer une nouvelle police

Scroll to the folder where you just saved the two files. I'd saved mine in c:\Fonts\TYPE2. Déroulez au dossier où vous venez d'enregistrer les deux fichiers. Les miens sont dans c:\Fonts\TYPE2.

Select the two files and click OK.

Th fonts are now installed in Windows and can be used.

Sélectionnez les deux fichiers et cliquez OK.

Les polices sont dornévant installés et à votre disposition.

Open Character Map (charmap.exe, part of the Windows system) and scroll to the font MS Reference 1. Select that font.
Ouvrir le Character Map (charmap.exe, intégrale au système Windows) et déroulez à la police MS Reference 1. Sélectionnez-la.

Note the sharp sign on Shift-3 (#), flat on Shift-4 ($) and the natural sign as number 8.
Notez la dièse sur la touche Maj-3 (#), le bémol sur la Maj-4 ($) et le bécarré au numéro 8.

Now you will be able to write C minor, E major and B correctly!

Dorénavant vous pourrez écrire correctement do mineur, si majeur et si.
